Ciabatta
Serves: 1 Loaf
Ingredients
1. 250g Strong White Bread Flour
2. Half tsp Salt
3. 1tsp Quick Yeast
4. 1tsp Sugar
5. 150ml Water
6. 4tbsp Olive Oil
Method
1. Preheat oven to 200C/Fan180C
2. In a large bowl mix together the flour, salt, quick yeast and sugar.
3. Add the water and roughly mix it into the flour.
4. Knead well until the dough feels smooth and pliable.
5. Leave the dough covered with a tea towel, in a draught free place, for it to double in size. (This should take about an hour).
6. Put the dough back into the bowl with 4tbsp of olive oil.
7. Press, fold and turn the dough until the olive oil has been incorporated.
8. Shape the dough into a long oval and place it on an oiled baking sheet.
9. Bake for 25/30 minutes.
